Everyone has bagage...
It's a thing called life, you got got beat up in school.Your
first love dumped you for the prom Queen. You've lost
jobs, pet's , and money in various endeavours.So,
what's it all about?Choices...Everyone has the opportunity
in life to make choices about the outcome of every situation
they face by deciding which actions they are going to take.So
you make the choice and think it's going to be all right
and then when it doesn't turn out with the result you
were looking for you are face with an indelible mark on your
psyche.In other words, it affects you the rest of your life.......baggage......I
have made certain choices in my life that I regret and some
I do not. I don't regret joining the military, even
though the consequences of doing it almost cost me my life.
I'd do it all over again.It has affected me though in
a way which will always be there in my soul.It has molded
my reactions to certain situations and I can either accept
my fate or live in a world of fear and anxiety and sorrow.
I choose acceptance.How does this affect my relationships?It
varies on the understanding of my potential mate.I'm
neither frightened or submissive or mentally unstable
as a result of my experiences, yet I still have to live with
them.I live with them by accepting what has happened, and
by learning skills to cope with it.The sooner you learn
to cope with the things that trouble you the quicker you
can get on with your life.
Everyone has had some kind of life
changing experience that has affected them permanently
to some degree or another.By having compassion and empathyfor
others, we can all better get along if we stop and realize
that we all have some kind of baggage, and it can be managed
with a little effort and understanding.So next time you
read a person's profile and find out they have 3 kids,
or are unemployed, or don't have a completely perfect
body, stop and realize that they had to make some difficult
choices along the way, and not all of them were right, but
people are generally good souls, and with the right understanding
they can be great, to someone else.
